Best Alternatives to Uplift for My Standing Desk Base?

Asked By d3skW1z4rd On

I'm in the process of building a standing desk using a beautiful 22x60x1.5 maple hardwood top. I'm currently considering the Uplift frame, but I've heard good things about it, and I want to explore other options as well. Stability and weight capacity are important to me since I don't want my desk to wobble. My budget for the frame is around $400, as I've already invested a lot in the tabletop. Any recommendations for good alternatives?

Honestly, I learned the hard way! I went for a cheaper standing desk frame and within two weeks, I seriously regretted my choice. It wobbled non-stop, especially at full height. If you can, I’d stick with something solid right from the start.

You might want to keep an eye on companies that liquidate their office furniture. Brands like Herman Miller, Steelcase, or Knoll offer frames that are super sturdy, and you can often find great deals during liquidation sales!

I managed to find a lightly used Uplift V2 for under $300 on Facebook Marketplace. It’s worth checking out second-hand options; you might score a nice deal!
