I have an empty border that I'm not quite ready to plant in yet, but unfortunately, weeds are starting to take over. What are some nice annuals I can plant now to keep the weeds at bay?

Consider planting some cosmos! They're larger than marigolds or pansies and will fill in nicely. Just keep in mind that they can self-seed, so you might see them pop up again next year. If you're open to it, wildflower seeds could be a fun option, too, but make sure to do a bit of weeding to help them grow. Alternatively, you could cover the area with black landscaping fabric until you're ready to plant. You could even place pots on top to get some greenery going while you wait.
Definitely give cosmos seeds a shot! I've had good luck with them in my garden. I also like to sprinkle some baby’s breath seeds around. They grow quickly, and I use them for cut flowers, too. You get loads of seeds in a pack, so it's budget-friendly!
Pansies and violas could be a great choice; they grow quickly and can fill the space nicely! You can usually find them in trays, making it easy to get started. Don't forget to check local garden centers and supermarkets for bedding plants on sale, as that might help if you need to cover a lot of ground!
