Hey everyone! I'm new to caring for plants and I'm looking for some advice. I have a balcony in New York City that's exposed to all kinds of weather—rain, snow, slush, cold, hot, humid, and lots of direct sunlight during the summer. I'm curious if there are any resilient plants that can handle these conditions without needing to be brought indoors for winter. Any recommendations? Thank you!

Mint is another option! It grows super well and doesn't mind the varying conditions. Plus, you can use it in drinks, which is a bonus! I love making virgin mojitos with my homegrown mint!
Consider going with hardy plants like succulents, lavender, or even boxwood. These types can pretty much handle whatever weather NYC throws at them. Just make sure to use pots with good drainage to avoid waterlogging. You'll have some great greenery year-round without the hassle of bringing them indoors during the colder months!
Geraniums are a solid choice! Mine have survived quite a bit of neglect and still bloom beautifully all summer. They're pretty adaptable to different light levels and can tolerate cooler temps better than many plants. Plus, there are some really cool varieties in different colors. I just bring mine inside for the winter and they're fine!

Mint sounds perfect! I love making mocktails too, so that would be useful! Do you find it hard to manage or does it pretty much take care of itself?
