Best Brands for Recessed Medicine Cabinets?

I'm renovating my master bathroom and looking to install recessed medicine cabinets. I'm wondering if anyone has had good or bad experiences with particular brands. I'm willing to pay for quality to ensure they last as I'm not too confident about big box store options. I've read mixed reviews on sites like Amazon, Wayfair, and Build, which make me hesitant. I'd consider custom options, but I want a specific type of mirror door that might be challenging for a cabinetmaker. Quality is key for me! Any recommendations?

I bought a classic recessed medicine cabinet from Home Depot and it was on sale. It looks fine, and the shelves are sturdy. But I learned the hard way that the mirror is plastic. After cleaning it with some 409, it ended up with permanent weird smudges. So, definitely make sure to get one with a glass mirror if you can!

Honestly, I think medicine cabinets are becoming a thing of the past. I removed mine and just put all my stuff into drawers in the vanity. It looks much cleaner that way! But if you're set on a cabinet, I totally get it. To each their own!

If you're looking for something premium, I highly recommend checking out Robern. They’re a bit pricey, but the quality is top-notch. They were one of the first to include power outlets in their cabinets and the finishes, like the interior mirror and aluminum trim, are fantastic. I usually go for Robern in my main bathroom and use their Kohler branded models for guest baths since they are a bit more affordable but with fewer features.
