I've been in my apartment for about 11 years, and with a good rent and rent control, I'm not planning to move anytime soon. However, the carpet really needs to be replaced, and the owners aren't covering the costs. I'm considering what flooring would look good and be affordable for about 400 sqft of the total 600 sqft space. I'd appreciate any suggestions on cheap yet stylish flooring options!

When looking for flooring that’s budget-friendly and has some style, you might want to consider luxury vinyl plank—it’s durable, easy to maintain, and often looks like real wood. Plus, it’s relatively straightforward to install if you ever decide to do it yourself. Just keep in mind how easy it would be to remove when you move out.
If you’re thinking about carpeting, you could get some area rugs instead. They’re usually a lot cheaper, can add color to your space, and you can take them with you when you go. Just make sure to use a good padding underneath for comfort!

That's a cool idea! Area rugs are versatile and easy to switch up.
