I'm trying to create a small garden in a limited area, but my soil is not great and it's filled with lots of lava rocks. I'm looking for suggestions on designs, planter boxes, or hanging garden setups. I'd love to see examples of gardens that work well in small spaces! Also, since I'm on a budget, any DIY or cost-effective ideas would be really helpful! ? Thanks!

Here's a cool tiny garden layout that could inspire you! Although it's not my setup, it's a great example showing a variety of plants in a small area. You can swap out the plants to better suit what you'd like to grow! ? Check it out!

What type of plants are you hoping to grow? If you're looking for veggies, tomatoes are super easy and productive. You can also consider herbs and small companion plants that don't take up too much space. Maybe some climbing plants would work well for you since they can grow vertically!
I want to grow a variety of veggies and fruits, definitely tomatoes, and maybe some vine plants too since they save space!
I think you might want to start small. Maybe pick a few plants that really catch your interest and go from there. Gardens can evolve over time! Also, if you’re in Washington State, take advantage of local botanical gardens for inspiration on what thrives in your area and how to arrange your plantings best.
I’m in Washington, so I’ll definitely check out some botanical gardens for ideas on planters and setups in my small yard!

This looks fantastic, thanks for sharing!
