Best Budget-Friendly Miter Saws for Precision Cutting?

I'm ready to upgrade from my trusty 10" compound sliding Craftsman miter saw that has served me well for over ten years during home renovations. Now, I'm diving into furniture making, and my current saw is causing me headaches—especially since I need to constantly adjust the angle settings. I'm on the lookout for a miter saw that's known for accuracy but won't break the bank. Also, just to clarify, I'm not interested in Festool options!

You might not find a single 'best' saw since it really depends on your needs, but Dewalt's 12-inch miter saws are generally well-regarded for price and performance. Just keep in mind they're pretty hefty, so make sure you have the space for it!

If you're going with a larger miter saw, keep in mind that 12-inch models can be slightly less precise than 10-inch ones due to blade deflection. If you’re fine sticking with a 10-inch, it’s usually a great sweet spot. Have you considered tuning up your current saw? You’d be surprised how much a good blade and some calibration can improve its accuracy. If you're looking for new, I highly recommend checking out the Makita LS1019L. It offers premium features at nearly half the cost of Festool!
