I just noticed some black dots on the ceiling in my son's bathroom and I'm looking for recommendations on mold and mildew resistant ceiling paint. What's the best option out there?

For our bathroom, we used Sherwin-Williams Emerald and it has worked wonders—no mildew or mold issues at all! If you haven't already, consider installing an exhaust fan if you don't have one. If you do, make sure it's being used correctly; it should run for at least 10 minutes post-shower to keep the moisture levels down. You could even look into humidity-sensor switches if you're not already using one!
Just a heads up—humidity is the enemy here! Even with good paint, a bathroom fan is crucial. Make sure it’s being used properly for best results; it can prevent a lot of mold issues in the first place.
Zinsser's Perma-White is your best bet for mildew resistance. I've used it a lot, and it's fantastic. Just don't forget to clean the ceiling with a bleach and water solution beforehand to prep the surface.
Don't underestimate the impact of proper ventilation! Half the battle against mold is managing moisture. Make sure it’s taken care of, and then focus on your painting options. Semi-gloss can actually attract moisture, so choose your finish wisely!

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely give that a try.
