I'm looking for cover recommendations for my 8x3 ft raised aluminum garden bed. The goal is to protect it from birds and frost. I've previously used a clear greenhouse tarp that fastened to the sides, but it didn't hold up in heavy rain and came undone. Ideally, I need something that can stay in place for a while without daily removal. Any solutions or suggestions?

I set up a PVC hoop system over my raised bed, which has worked wonders! I’m currently using bug netting but am thinking about trying an insulated cover for winter crops. It’s a solid option for keeping pests away and managing frost, especially in zones 5b/6a.
PVC hoops with row covers are fantastic! For even more protection, consider using greenhouse plastic. I’ve seen setups with double insulated hinged hoops that let you grow cold-hardy crops in snowy areas. Here’s a video demonstrating that approach if you're interested!
I went for a super budget-friendly option by using hula hoops from the dollar store. I just placed them in the bed and draped a plant cover over the top, securing it with some rocks. It's working really well so far and didn’t cost a lot!
This is a great response! Thank you so much!
