Best Dorm Room Plants That Are Hard to Kill?

Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for the perfect plant to brighten up my dorm room! I need something that's basically foolproof and can handle some neglect when it comes to watering. My room faces North, so I only get about 2-4 hours of sunlight in the afternoon. I want a plant that won't take up too much space and doesn't attract bugs either. Any recommendations?

Definitely ZZ plant for your dorm! They come in various sizes and can handle different lighting conditions, even if they do grow a bit slowly. Just be cautious not to overwater them!

If you want something that’s more 'rewarding' in terms of growth, go with pothos! I have a neon pothos that survived low light and underwatering for ages and has been doing great! It’s my favorite plant now!

How often do you guys water the ZZ plant? Any tips?

I’d totally recommend going for a ZZ plant or a snake plant! They’re both super resilient and can thrive in lower light conditions. Pothos is also a solid choice since they can handle a bit of neglect too!

Thanks! I’ll add ZZ and snake plant to my list. Pothos sounds great too!

Awesome suggestions! I think I’m leaning towards the ZZ plant due to its size!

If you're set on pothos, they’ve been a lifesaver for me! I almost killed mine a few times, but it keeps bouncing back, which is super encouraging!
