I'm on the hunt for round, orb-shaped succulents that are easy to care for as gifts. My sister loves ball-shaped cacti and succulents, as long as they're not too spiny. She's been doing great with her Echinopsis Subdenudata for the last two years, growing it under an LED light with no issues. I'm looking for more recommendations that won't be too delicate or high-maintenance. So far, I'm considering Euphorbia Obesa, Astrophytum Asterias, and various Gymnocalycium species, especially the smooth ones. Are there any other options I should consider? Also, if you have tips on where to source them ethically, that would be awesome!

Have you checked out the Tephrocactus genus? They come in all sorts of shapes, and many of them are pretty low-maintenance. Plus, they can be quite unique in appearance! Just make sure to give them right light and avoid overwatering.
That's a neat idea! I’ve seen some images of Tephrocactus with spines only on top. Do they just lose them as they age, or do people trim them?
