Best Fan Options for Rooms with 7-Foot Ceilings?

I'm trying to figure out what kind of fans work best for my bedroom since it has a 7-foot ceiling. I looked into flush mount ceiling fans, but the lowest I found is about 8.5 inches tall, and I've read that could still feel cramped in the space. Should I just go for a floor standing fan or maybe a tower fan instead?

The real problem with flush mount fans is the motor size. They can't design a fan with the motor hidden in the ceiling for safety reasons. I have a flush mount fan that cost me $500, and it's still about 8-10 inches tall. Honestly, the quality isn’t even that great. If I could do it over, I’d just buy one or two nice standing fans instead—they look good and work well!

I found a fan that's 8.5 inches high, but some folks say that might still be too low. I'm also leaning more towards getting a tower fan and positioning it in the corner.

I have to admit, I just learned today that 7-foot ceilings were a thing! I was surprised to find out this might be common in older homes. Most of the houses I'm familiar with have much taller ceilings. It's fascinating how building codes have changed over time!

Yeah, that's definitely the height! I didn't measure it exactly, but it's low enough that I can touch the ceiling easily, and I'm 5'9". The house is pretty old—built around the 1940s, I think.
