I recently bought some tulip poplar wood and I'm planning to assemble it into a bed. I have all the pieces ready to go, but I'm unsure how to finish the wood since it's not dyed or stained. I'm also open to suggestions for quick-drying dyes or stains that would look nice on it. Just a note, I'm based on the West Coast of the US, so specific local brands would be great too!

You might want to check out some general tips on finishing poplar wood online. There are plenty of resources available. While a lot of info covers dyed or stained poplar, you can still find good guidance for clear finishes. Just make sure you know whether to sand before the first coat of polyurethane or just before the second coat. It definitely makes a difference!

Good point! I've seen advice that suggests sanding before the first coat can really help the finish adhere better, especially with clear finishes. What do you think, should I test it out?!
