Hey everyone! I'm getting married in mid-July and just discovered that my uncle has some extra planters available at his property, where the ceremony will take place. I've read that some Cosmos, like the Dwarf variety, might bloom earlier than others, but I'm wondering if there are any other flowers we can plant now that will bloom around the same time. I'm a bit short on budget for buying starters, but I could consider it as a last resort. Any suggestions?

You might want to check out local nurseries; they usually have affordable options. I bet for about fifty bucks, you could get a whole bunch of plants. Just ask them what they have available!
Starters are definitely a solid choice! You can look at Facebook Marketplace or local groups for cheap starter plants. I've seen flower festivals around where I get cosmos starters for as little as $3 each. If you pinch back the blooms, you'll get even more flowers from each plant! Also, make sure to visit local farmers markets as they sometimes have great selections.
Just a heads up, make sure they get enough sun! Cosmos are all about that full sunshine for maximum blooms. Petunias and marigolds are also fantastic options that thrive in those conditions. I'd suggest going for six-pack starters over seeds since they'll establish quicker. Good luck with your wedding planning!

Exactly! Those flowers are pretty reliable too. Plus, if you’re looking for quick-grow seeds, zinnias might work if you plant them now. Just check the packet for the bloom time.
