Best Gardening Hose Recommendations – Share Your Experiences!

I've been frustrated with the quality of gardening hoses available from major retailers. My Dad, who worked as a landscaper for over 30 years, always had durable hoses that lasted for years. However, the hoses I buy now start kinking, bursting, or leaking after just a few months. I understand the concept of planned obsolescence and cheap materials. I'm currently in search of a sturdy, commercial-grade hose that's at least 25 feet long. What do you recommend?

I’ve always relied on Goodyear hoses; I don’t know if they still make them like they used to, but I have some that are over 20 years old and still work perfectly. If you find them, they’re worth it! I also got good results from the Continental hoses from Lowe's—they have been sturdy for a while now. Just ensure any hose you choose has brass fittings, as aluminum tends to corrode.

Exactly! I also noticed that Goodyear hoses, especially the black rubber ones, can withstand even the harshest sun without cracking or bursting.

One of the best hoses I've found is from Eley. Just be prepared that it might be a bit pricey. A friend of mine had an Eley hose, but the brass fitting started leaking after about a year and a half. Still, my Flexzilla hoses—used frequently over six years—haven't let me down at all! They're a solid option too if you prefer something lighter.

What about the Eley hose? I noticed similar results with the brass fittings leaking. Flexzilla seems popular for its durability.

You should check out Project Farm on YouTube; he conducts intense tests on various hoses. His insights are super helpful! It's interesting how some brands hold up better than others, especially in harsh conditions.

Absolutely love his videos! They're a lifesaver when it comes to making decisions on all these options out there.
