I'm about to move into a condo with a finished kitchen in the basement that uses an ejector pump for drainage, which also services a bathroom. Since I'm the first owner, I want to prevent any future problems related to the ejector pump. To do that, I'm considering installing a grease trap under the kitchen sink to catch any debris that might slip down the drain. I don't pour oil or grease down the sink, but I know little bits can make their way in over time. I'd prefer a smaller grease trap so it doesn't take up too much space, even if that means I'll need to clean it out more often. Has anyone here installed one in a residential setting? What products did you use, and how effective were they? Any recommendations for good options?

First off, great idea to think ahead about the grease trap! I've seen a few residential setups, and many people have good luck with models like the Little Giant grease trap. It's compact and does the job without hogging space. Just remember to stay on top of the cleaning!
I recently installed a grease trap from Grease Guardian, and it works really well for my kitchen! It’s not huge, so it fits under the sink nicely. Make sure to follow the maintenance schedule, and you'll be good to go!
Good to hear about the Grease Guardian! I've been looking at similar models, and your experience helps a lot. Cleaning every month is manageable!

I second the Little Giant recommendation! It's been solid for my buddy who recently renovated his kitchen. Just make sure to check it regularly to avoid build-up!
