Best Grow Lights for Small Succulent Pots?

Asked By SucculentFan42 On

Hey everyone! I'm in Vancouver, Canada, and as we approach spring, the weather is still chilly and rainy. This is my first year growing succulents indoors, and I've noticed they're getting long and thin, which I think is due to lack of light. For next winter, I'd like to invest in some grow lights. I have about 10-20 small pots of succulents, and I'm considering options available on Amazon like this one: [link](https://a.co/d/fvi0fdM). Do you think it's a good choice, or could you suggest better alternatives? Thanks for your help!

It really depends on the size of your pots and the area you want to cover. If you’re using small 2" nursery pots, something like the Barrina bar-style lights is awesome because they can be arranged on shelves. For a more circular setup, Sansi grow light bulbs work well too. Just a heads up, those wand lights you mentioned might not be enough on their own since they're only 7 watts each, so you could need several to make up for it!

If you're searching for grow light recommendations, the wiki has a list you can check out! Also, for basic light specs, there’s a really helpful post in the community that breaks everything down. Just search for grow light threads in the group; you’ll find a ton of great insights from other members!

I've used Sansi bulbs for my orchids and they work pretty well! They can be a bit on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for. I recently came across this cool product on Amazon that offers great value and performance. Just a heads up though, I typically only use them for orchids, so not sure how well they translate to succulents!

That sounds interesting! I actually like the idea of using something meant for orchids. I might give that a try if it works for you!
