Best Hardscaping Options for a Pool Area: Mixing Materials?

0
Asked By WanderLust4Life On

I'm looking to hardscape a large area around my pool, about 1500 square feet. We've narrowed down our preferences to travertine or Indian bluestone pavers, followed by stamped concrete, and then concrete pavers. Given the size of the project, I'm contemplating whether mixing different materials could work. However, I haven't found many examples of this approach online. Does anyone have advice or inspiration for successfully combining these types of hardscaping?

As a landscaper, I generally recommend sticking to one type of material for pavers or tiles. Mixing different kinds can lead to issues with varying thicknesses and installation methods, which might create uneven transitions between the surfaces. It's best to maintain a consistent look throughout for both aesthetics and functionality.
