Best Herbs to Grow in an Apartment with a Balcony?

Asked By SunnyBreeze93 On

I'm looking to grow some herbs in my apartment, specifically on my balcony. I plan to use a railing planter, but I'm not entirely sure what types of herbs are easiest for beginners in a space like that. I'm located in Central North Carolina, where it's usually warm during the summer. I'm also open to any recommendations for planters that would work well!

Herbs are perfect for growing in small spaces like apartments! I've had great success with basil, thyme, rosemary, and mint. Just keep in mind the sunlight your balcony gets—these herbs tend to thrive with plenty of sun. Since you mentioned getting about 6 hours of direct sunlight, you should be good to go!

Thanks for the tips! I actually had a bad experience with tomatoes before, but I'm excited to try herbs! I'll definitely research the needs for these herbs to see which works best with my sunlight.
