Best High Density LED Matrix Panels for Prototyping?

Hey everyone! I'm new to the world of LED technology and I have a question about LED Matrix Panels. I'm trying to find a high-density panel for a project, but I'm a bit lost with all the terminology and options available. I've noticed panels sized around 200mm x 200mm with resolutions like 64x64, or sometimes 128x64, but the pixel density hasn't been what I hoped for. I've had some luck when searching for a lower mm pitch, but the really small options often come with vague 'Contact us for a quote' messages, and they seem to look a lot like LCD screens, which isn't quite what I'm aiming for.

For context, I'm working on a prototype for a 3D Volumetric Display and I need a basic version that can create images without having to spin the panel at high speeds. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Let me know if you need more specific details since I'm still figuring this all out.

Hey! To help you find the best LED matrix panel, it would be useful to know your target LED density. Are you aiming for a monochrome display or full RGB color? Keep in mind that higher resolutions often mean contacting manufacturers for quotes, especially if you're going above 256x256. Flat panels work great for many projects, but don't shy away from considering other sizes or shapes like strips. Those could potentially fit your 3D display concept! A color CRT could also be intriguing, but it might complicate things for your illusion — still, worth a thought!

Thanks for the tips! I definitely prefer RGB, and I'm now thinking a flat panel will suit my needs best. I'll keep an eye out for sizes beyond 256x256. Who knows, maybe experimenting with CRT could add a fun twist!
