Best Indoor Greenhouse Setup for Growing Veggies: Tips Needed!

Hey everyone! I'm growing a variety of veggies in my apartment using two smaller greenhouses and planning to upgrade to a walk-in one soon. I'm tackling tomatoes, green beans, various peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, and more, all while dreaming of having a massive greenhouse for year-round growing when I eventually get land. I know this setup isn't typical for an apartment, but I'm tired of supermarket veggies that just don't cut it. I'm mainly looking for recommendations on the best types of greenhouses, seed trays, and especially grow lights that suit my indoor gardening needs. Any tips and tricks from those who've been in the same boat would be super appreciated! Thanks for your help!

Not necessarily questions for you to answer, but thinking about a few things might help:
- How much do aesthetics matter for your indoor setup?
- Will your apartment still be a space for entertaining, or is growing food your top priority?
- Do you have anyone else living with you who might be affected by your gardening?
- How often do you plan to be hands-on? Will you need some automation?
- If you harvest more than you can eat, do you have plans for preserving it?
- Also, is power an issue where you live? Might you need a backup plan?

I'd suggest checking out grow tents or Aerogardens for your setup! Here are a few pointers:
- Consider your budget, since both grow tents and Aerogardens can require a good chunk of change upfront.
- Think about how much space you really have; you might need to limit the number of plants based on your area.
- Decide if you want to go with soil, hydroponics, or a mix of both.
- Choose your crops wisely based on your space limitations—dwarf and determinate tomatoes work great indoors, while pole types are a no-go. Similarly, bush beans are a win, but pole beans are tricky indoors.

I'm in a similar situation with a grow tent and an Aerogarden, and my grow tent’s been amazing! A little planning is key. You might want to start with a couple of veggies, like peppers and tomatoes, and then expand as you get more room.

Sounds like great advice! I’m also in a small space and started with only a couple of plants at a time. It really helps keep things manageable!

So, do you mean a literal greenhouse inside your apartment? Sounds a bit wild! What you described sounds more like small shelving units for seed starting rather than full-on greenhouses. But those small setups can work wonders! I'm curious about the walk-in one you’re thinking of—it sounds like you’re on the right track for using your patio, too!

Exactly! I’m using shelves for starting seeds now, but the walk-in one will be a game changer for my patio! I also plan to integrate climbers indoors under grow lights.
