Best Indoor Plants for a Water Experiment?

Hey everyone! I'm planning a fun little experiment where I'll be using three different types of water to grow a plant and track its growth. I want to keep everything else the same—using the same plant species, soil mix, and giving them all about 4-6 hours of direct sunlight a day. I'm torn between starting from seeds or just buying a small plant. Can anyone suggest good indoor plants that can handle being watered weekly with that amount of sunlight? I'd appreciate your recommendations!

I suggest bean seeds—they grow fast! My daughter did a similar school project where she watered bean seeds with different liquids, and they thrived. We even got to eat the beans later! Can't wait to see how yours turns out with different water types.

Pilea plants are known for their fast growth. You could use multiple cuttings in water to see which roots fastest, then continue the experiment after potting. Other good options are basil or mint; they usually do well too.

You might want to try fast-growing plants like radishes or basil from seeds. They sprout quickly, love sunlight, and need weekly watering. Starting from seeds will let you see your whole experiment unfold from day one. It sounds like a fun project!
