Best Jig for Drilling Straight Holes in Thick Wood?

I'm working on a project where I need to drill a 13/16" hole in a 1" thick wooden plank. I want to ensure that the hole goes straight down to a depth of 2". What kind of jig would be best for centering the drill on the 1" edge? I was considering using a forstner bit, but I'm open to other suggestions!

You might want to check out a portable drill guide. They allow for precision drilling and can help keep your drill straight.

A drill press is your best bet! It keeps everything aligned perfectly. Here’s a good one I found: https://a.co/d/9PzzGRg

Have you thought about using a drill press? They're really good for ensuring straight holes, especially when you're dealing with thick wood.

Actually, the piece I'm working on is 6ft by 3ft and 1" thick.
