I'm looking for recommendations on lights to use for automotive work at home, especially for tasks under the hood or underneath the car. I have a few M12 tools already, but I'm open to getting M18 tools if they're better. Also, I'm considering getting a fan to keep things cool while I work.

A good rechargeable headlamp is all you really need! I prefer Fenix headlamps; mine's a bit old but it's great and still going strong after nearly a decade. They’re super handy for both under-the-hood and vehicle work, and they free up your hands.
You can't go wrong with this magnetic light I've been using—it's super convenient for any automotive work! Check out the Milwaukee M18, it outputs a whopping 2500 lumens and is perfect for those tight spots. Here's the link if you want a closer look: [Milwaukee M18 Magnetic Boom Light](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-2500-Lumens-LED-Magnetic-Extendable-Boom-Light-Tool-Only-2129-20/329790779).
Haha, same here! I feel like I don’t need it, but I totally do!
If you've got access to a lift, the M12 Underbody light is fantastic. Alternatively, the Underhood light is also highly recommended. Another popular choice is the M12 ROVER Service light, it's versatile and provides great illumination. Don't overlook the M18 ROVER if you need something bigger and adjustable!
The new M12 ROVER sounds amazing! Good to know about the brightness too.
Thanks for the detailed options! Super helpful!

I forgot how handy headlamps are! Definitely adding one to my list.
