Best Mask for Cleaning Mold in the Bathroom?

Hey everyone! I've noticed some mildew building up in my shower, and I want to tackle it before it gets worse. I'm wondering if an N95 mask would be enough protection for this kind of cleanup, or if I should invest in a P100 respirator instead. What do you think?

You’ll probably be fine without a mask! Just spray a bathroom cleaner on it and wipe it off. It’s likely just a bacterial biofilm anyway.

Honestly, I wouldn’t bother with a mask at all. Just save your money and get to cleaning. A good bathroom cleaner should do the trick without needing extra gear.

If you can get a respirator, why not? You won’t be using it for long, so it shouldn't be uncomfortable. Plus, they can last a while if you keep them sealed when not in use. While you might not strictly need a mask, there’s definitely no advantage to inhaling mold or any cleaning chemicals, so why take the chance?

If you're allergic to mold, I’d recommend definitely wearing eye protection and using a respirator. If not, just mix up some vinegar and water, or use hydrogen peroxide with water to spray and clean up the mildew.

I usually go for an N95, but sometimes I throw on a bandanna or a thin fabric mask over it just to be safe. Can't be too careful if you ask me!
