Best Miter Saw Options for a Compact Miter Station

I'm looking for recommendations for a miter saw that will fit well in a miter station and be able to sit flush against a wall without taking up too much depth. Currently, I have the Dewalt 779, but it's just not working out for my setup. Is it feasible to make this work with a 22" base cabinet?

For a tight setup near a wall, I'd recommend the Bosch Glide or any miter saw with forward rails from brands like Festool or Metabo. I can take measurements of my 12-inch Bosch to help gauge how much space you'll need from the wall to the maximum cut depth. Just FYI, with a 22-inch cabinet, you should still have about 9 inches of support for material, considering the 13.5-inch maximum cut depth.

While I'm not sure about the minimal depth requirements, I really love my Bosch saw. It requires only about an inch of space from the wall when adjusted for miter cuts since it extends forward instead of using rear rails. Definitely check it out!

There are several options on the market that can help save space! Brands like Wen, Bosch, and Festool offer miter saws with forward-facing rails. They have a different design that lets the saw slide on rails in front, so they don’t need much clearance against the wall. You'll need to look into specific models to find one that fits your desired footprint.
