I have a bunch of wooden beds and containers in my vegetable garden, and I'm considering painting them to improve their durability. However, I've heard that some paints can leach harmful substances into the soil. Are there any natural options or alternatives I should consider instead?

Honestly, a solid choice is just to leave the wood untreated. It might weather naturally, but it can still work well for a garden. Plus, you won’t have to worry about chemicals leaching into your soil!
I made my raised beds out of 8/4 cedar. I’ve found that letting them weather on their own is the way to go. By the time they start to rot, I likely won’t be using them anymore, or I’ll have moved on to a new garden!
