Hey everyone! I'm looking for advice on what houseplants are safe to have around cats and dogs. I used to own a spider plant, but my cats ended up munching on it, and unfortunately, I didn't care for it properly either, so it's no longer with us. Now I'm eager to get back into plant care but need to find options that won't be harmful to my pets. I don't have a ton of sunlight—about 3-5 hours of direct sunlight if the weather is right—and my windows face west. Ideally, I'm after low-maintenance plants since I'm still pretty new to this. Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!

You should definitely check the ASPCA website for a list of toxic and non-toxic plants! I've had great experiences with Chamaedorea Neanthe Bella (parlor palm) and bamboo palms—they're both safe and pretty easy to maintain! Hoyas are good too!
Yeah, Hoyas are a great choice to start with! Peperomia Obtusifolia and the Fishbone Cactus are also durable options that could thrive in your place.
Thanks for the tips! I’ll check out the ASPCA list and consider those palms. I appreciate it!
