Best Places to Buy Sunflower Hearts for Birds Online?

Asked By NatureNerd42 On

I'm having a hard time keeping up with the birds; they're devouring sunflower hearts like crazy! I'm looking for the best online options to buy sunflower hearts at a good value. We live in a rural area, so shopping options are limited, hence the preference for online shopping. By the way, we're lucky to have a variety of birds visiting, including chaffinches, blue tits, coal tits, siskins, yellowhammers, wagtails, robins, and woodpeckers!

I just started using sunflower hearts this year too, and they're a hit! I've seen so many finches hanging around. For physical stores, Pets at Home has been the best option for pricing that I found so far. As for online, I'm still hunting for the best deal.

Check out Chubbymealworms for some good deals on bird food. They also have these surprise bags from their warehouse, which can be a fun way to try out different stuff at a discount!

I typically order online as well. eBay can be a good resource for competitive prices. Just a heads up, I did once order from a site called Bargain Bird Food, and while their prices were great, I had a sketchy experience with a fraud attempt on my card, so just be cautious! I’ve noticed that sunflower heart prices have risen quite a bit recently due to various global issues.

We had the same issue until we switched to a 25kg bag—it’s lasted us ages! Buying in bulk might be the way to go if you're going through a lot of seeds.

Have you thought about growing your own sunflowers? I planted one giant sunflower last year and got about 100 seeds from it! This year, I’ve got 20 seedlings sprouting already. It’s a fun project and can save you money in the long run!

Funny you mention that! We actually have a few sunflowers on our windowsill right now. We're trying to see how they'll do before we go all-in next year!
