Hey everyone! I'm situated in NE Colorado where my yard gets plenty of sun but also faces a lot of wind. It's tough to keep the soil moist, and I've had a hard time getting plants to thrive. I'm planning to grow most of my veggies in 5-gallon buckets, but I'm also excited about repurposing an old clawfoot tub as a garden bed. Any recommendations on what I could successfully plant in that hot, dry, and windy environment? Thanks!

If summer temps are hitting over 90 degrees, you might also want to consider some hardy vegetables, like peppers or eggplants. They enjoy the heat as long as they’re getting enough water. Just be ready to water frequently since the wind can dry them out quickly. Covering the tub can help with moisture retention during those hot spells!
It sounds like your area gets really hot! For your clawfoot tub, I'd recommend drought-tolerant plants like succulents, lavender, or even some herbs like rosemary and thyme. They can handle the heat and the wind pretty well. Since you're using a tub, make sure it has good drainage too! Good luck with your garden!
Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll definitely look into those herbs!

Great idea! I’ll keep that in mind about the watering!
