Best Portable AC Units for Narrow Windows in Old Houses?

Asked By QuirkyNinja47 On

I'm on the hunt for a portable AC unit that can fit into a narrow window in my old house. It was built back in 1901, and the window width is about 16 inches. I haven't found anything suitable yet. I was considering modifying the window kit, but I'm unsure about the best approach to do that. Any ideas or recommendations?

You might want to check out casement window AC units. Those are designed for narrower openings like yours and could work well. Just make sure to double-check the dimensions to find the right fit!

Have you thought about the size of the room you're cooling? There are several window AC units out there that can fit a 16-inch width, depending on their height. Just skip the expanding side pieces for a tighter fit. It'll keep your 14x14 room nice and cool!
