I'm looking for recommendations on potting soil mixes that are great for growing vegetables on my balcony. It gets plenty of sunlight, and I'm interested in brands or specific mixes that work well. Any suggestions?

I've had awesome results using Fox Farm Ocean Forest or Coco Loco mixes. Yeah, they can be a bit on the pricey side, especially for larger gardens, but the quality is top-notch! When you can't make your own compost, these are my go-to choices.
If you're looking to splurge a bit, Fox Farm Ocean Forest is amazing. If you want something more budget-friendly, I’ve had great luck with Fertilome mixed with compost. It’s been my steady choice for years!
For a homemade mix, I usually go with 1 part compost, 1 part topsoil, and about 1/4 part perlite. I wouldn’t recommend Miracle-Gro potting soil unless it's your only option; it tends to be pricey and the quality has dropped lately.
I thought the same, but I saw a video where Miracle-Gro actually performed really well. Makes me wonder if they have some sponsorship deal going on or something.

I totally agree! I like to buy a couple of bags of those premium soils and mix them with some cheaper compost to stretch it further.
