Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for some solid advice regarding raised beds for planting a fig tree. Currently, my fig is still pretty young, so I'm trying to figure out the right size for a bed that can accommodate its growth. I live in Summerville, South Carolina, and I'm dealing with heavy clay soil that makes it a hassle to dig down for roots. Any tips or recommendations would be really helpful! Thanks a lot!

I've got clay soil too, and while it can be tough to manage, my fig trees are thriving! I wouldn't suggest going for a raised bed. Instead, just dig a solid hole in that clay—trust me, the fig will find a way to grow. Just put in the effort, and you might be surprised at how well it does!

I appreciate the advice! I'm just a bit worried since this fig tree is special to my family. I lost a lime tree recently, and I'm just not sure if my beginner skills can handle it!
