Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice on choosing an SDS hammer drill. I work in residential HVAC and will primarily use it for drilling holes for line sets and vent flues in brick and concrete. I need to drill up to 3-inch holes for a flue pipe using core bits. I'm not really knowledgeable about these tools, so any recommendations on the right size and type of drill would be much appreciated!

If you're drilling for big line sets, you should consider whether you want an SDS+ or SDS Max. For a cordless option, the Milwaukee 2915-20 is a solid choice; it's powerful enough for a 3" core bit, plus it's really portable. Just a heads-up, going smaller might save you some money, but you'll end up wasting more time. And if you go bigger, those drills can be huge and expensive!
Keep in mind, if you're using diamond coring bits, you'll need a drill that can turn off the hammer function. From what I know, only some Milwaukee SDS+ drills have that feature, so make sure to look for that.
