Best Short Locking Screwdriver Bits for DCF850

Asked By TechieTroubadour99 On

I'm looking for short locking screwdriver bits for my DCF850 impact driver. It's frustrating because I need to work in tight spaces, but the standard bit lengths I find negate some of the advantage of the DCF850's compact design. I've found some 50mm bits with the locking groove, but I can't seem to locate any in the 25-40mm range, which would be ideal for an upcoming project. If anyone has recommendations for locking bits in the UK, that would be awesome!

I found a bunch of bits with some in a set that I got, and they seem decent. Just make sure to grab ones that fit in with your driver properly. You never know what might be hiding in a toolbox!

In the US, we refer to those with locking grooves as 'power bits.' They're usually around 2" (51mm), so the Milwaukee ones are a solid choice. If you can't find 25mm power bits, consider looking for any standard 1" insert bits. They might not lock, but they'll work in a pinch since you're using an impact driver. Just make sure they’re impact rated!

Check out Milwaukee Shockwave bits! They have quick-lock options and come in both 1" and 2" lengths. Those should work great for your needs!
