Best Soil for Growing Passion Fruit in Canada?

Hey everyone! I'm getting ready to germinate my passion fruit seeds tomorrow, but I need some advice on what type of soil is best for them. It seems tough to find useful information online, especially since most of it is based on US products and I'm in Canada. Any recommendations would be really appreciated!

You want to avoid clay soil; it's too dense for passion fruit. A good option is raw compost, which should work great for them. They definitely grow well around here even in less than ideal soil. Just mix in some sand for drainage if your compost is compact.

Thanks, that makes sense! I initially thought about getting a citrus mix, but if compost works well, I'm on board. How's the smell of compost though? I’d be keeping it indoors for a couple months.
