I'm currently using an Anker smart solar panel system and I'm really happy with it. My battery capacity is about 20 kWh. I have an opportunity to add another 3 kWh to my existing setup for around $1700, but I'm reaching out to see if anyone here has other suggestions for increasing my battery capacity within the same budget. I'm open to DIY solutions, and I can also have a friend who's an electrician help with any circuit breaker work, so I'm not too worried about the installation. Just trying to figure out if I should pursue this upgrade or start building a different setup altogether.

Hey there! Just to clarify, are you sure you mean 20 kW of solar? That would be quite a lot! What you're looking for really depends on your goals—backup power, off-grid living, etc. The pricing for additional 3 kWh seems a bit steep to me. Have you considered other brands? For instance, I saw an EG4 power pro for $3300 that's UL certified, which might be worth saving up for instead of the smaller addition. Just a thought!
Honestly, $1700 for just an extra 3 kWh seems overpriced. Maybe check out other battery brands—some could give you more capacity for your budget. It’s always great to shop around! If you’re fine with DIY, that could definitely help save some cash and give you flexibility if you decide to expand later on.

Thank you for the advice! I’ll definitely look into other pricing options.
