I'm looking to set up some solar-powered lights in my shop, which is about 30x20 ft. I'd like to conserve my power outlets since I only have two due to some issues from the previous owner. I've seen USB-powered LED strips that can provide enough brightness, but even a multi-USB tap occupies one of my limited plugs. My idea is to use solar panels designed for security cameras to charge a portable power bank during the day, then run my lights from that. I know from past experiences that a 2000 mAh battery can power a 3-meter LED strip for a decent amount of time. Any suggestions or advice on this setup? I'm aiming to keep the cost under $75 since I already have the LED strips.

If you already have outlets, why not add a couple more? It's typically not too complicated unless there are issues like the circuit becoming overloaded. It might save you from going full solar!
I've actually used a battery inverter with Rigid tool batteries to light up my detached garage, which is about the same size as yours. Swapping out batteries for a few LED lights works well for me. It might be worth checking how much longer those light strips could run with this method!

Yeah, I’d have to do some serious rewiring, especially with high-power tools that can trip the breaker easily.
