Best Tape for High-Density Polyethylene Foam: Suggestions Needed!

Asked By CreativeSeal23 On

I'm looking for recommendations on the best type of tape to use for fastening High-Density Polyethylene Foam, like the kind used in swimming pool kickboards. I want something that can stick two pieces together securely, but also allows for repositioning without leaving a sticky mess. Any suggestions on what I can find at Lowes or Home Depot?

I recommend Tuck Tape, which is specifically for vapor barrier sheathing. It tends to stick really well to foam, and it's blue, so you won't miss it on the project!

You might want to try a spray adhesive like 3M Super 77. It's designed for various materials and should work well with foam. There's even a version specifically for foam and fabrics, so that could be a solid choice! If you're interested in tape though, Tyvek tape is known for its strong adhesion and might do the trick. Just keep in mind Gorilla tape is also an option, but give it some time to set before putting pressure on it.
