Best Temporary Housing Options During Home Remodel That Allow Dogs?

I'm in a bit of a bind! My home is set to undergo a major remodel for about two months, and I want to find a place to stay that will accommodate my two dogs. I really don't feel comfortable leaving them with anyone else for so long. Can anyone share their experiences or suggest some good options for pet-friendly short-term housing?

Airbnbs are fantastic for situations like this! They usually offer discounts for longer stays, and many are pet-friendly, so you can bring your dogs along. Plus, you won't have to worry about extra fees beyond a small pet deposit, and you’ll have a full kitchen, which is a big help. I’ve stayed in Airbnbs for months while getting to know a new area, and it worked out great for us! Just check their pet policy, though, as some might have restrictions on dog breeds.

Consider buying a used camper! I lived in one during my remodel a few years ago and it worked out well. You can often find a good deal, and when you’re done with the remodel, you can sell it for the same price you bought it. Just think about where you’d park it, though. If you have space in your yard, that could be a good option. It gives you flexibility and a cozy space while the work is being done. Plus, you’d have your dogs right there with you!

Definitely check Extended Stay America or similar places! They allow dogs and are usually cheaper than an Airbnb. Just keep in mind that in high-demand areas, like following natural disasters, they might be fully booked. If that's the case, Airbnb could still be your best bet. Many places cater to longer stays and pet owners, so you'll likely find something suitable!
