Hey everyone! I'm looking for advice on how to carve concavities in wood for my figurines. Specifically, I'm interested in creating eye sockets, cavities, or the concave shapes found in teaspoons. What tools and techniques do you recommend for achieving this? Thank you so much! ?

The tools you use really depend on your preference. I mostly work with gouges to get the shapes I need. For smaller details, you might want a curved carving knife, like the ones in spoon carving kits, although you'll need to practice to get the hang of it!
To create concavities like eye sockets or teaspoons, gouges and scorps are your best friends! They work great for shaping wood, especially for kitchen items. You'll also need some detail knives for those finer details. Always make sure your tools are sharp for the best results!
Thanks for the tips!

I think I might need to sharpen mine a bit more!
