Best Two-Piece Track Saw System for Perfectly Straight Cuts?

I'm in the market for a track saw that can help me achieve perfectly straight cuts on sheet goods. I'm pretty particular about getting them flawless and square. I've tried connecting two Kraig track saw tracks together, but I found it tough to keep them aligned. Even when I used a 6-foot level to straighten them out, the screws just wouldn't hold the alignment, leading to cuts that were off by 1/16" to 1/8" over a 48" length. I know I can just buy a longer single track (like 110" or 118"), but if there's a two-piece track that stays straight without needing a level every time, that would be way easier for storage. Is there a two-piece track system that prevents movement at the joint?

You might also want to consider the solutions from Truetrac. They offer a unique system using tapered slugs for alignment, but keep in mind it’s only compatible with their adapter for circular saws. It’s designed to keep the track in place perfectly! Check them out at truetrac.com.

The Bosch/Mafell track system could be your best bet. They have precision-machined tracks and a joining bar that pulls the two pieces into perfect alignment when tightened. While the Mafell is pricey, the Bosch saw is a solid alternative without breaking the bank. I personally use a pair of 1600mm tracks for rips and it works flawlessly!

If you’re looking for something that stays aligned without issues, I’d recommend checking out Festool. Their tracks usually line up really well, and the fuss is minimal. I've heard great feedback about their connectors helping keep everything straight too!
