Best Way to Cut a 2” PVC Pipe at Home?

I'm looking to cut a single piece of 2" PVC pipe to about 10" in length. As a woodworker, I already have various power tools like a jigsaw, miter saw, and bandsaw available. I'm trying to avoid buying a special blade just for this one cut. What would you recommend as the best tool or method to do this?

I’d say go for your miter saw; it handles PVC like it’s cutting through butter. Just be careful to cut slowly to avoid shattering the tube. If you have a 60-tooth blade, that’s even better for a clean cut!

Definitely, a sharp blade makes a huge difference. Plus, don’t forget to deburr the edges afterward!

Exactly! A clean cut really helps when you're gluing it later, too.

Just remember, any blade that's good for wood will do the job on PVC. Whether it's a band saw, chop saw, or even a hacksaw, grab whatever's closest.

Honestly, you can use just about any saw for this. A jigsaw works fine, but make sure your PVC is secured to prevent it from bouncing around. A handsaw is also a solid option since it produces less dust and is pretty straightforward.

Handsaws are great for quick jobs like this. Just remember to take your time, and you'll be done in no time!

Yeah, the less mess, the better! Plus, you won't have to clean up a ton of tiny particles.
