Best Way to Drill a 2″ Hole in Ipe for a Lazy Susan

Hey everyone! I'm on a project to build a lazy susan for my patio table using some leftover Ipe wood from my flooring. Tomorrow, I'm planning to make the top circular using a jig I built for my table saw. Fingers crossed that I can get a clean edge without scorching it too much! The next step is to drill a 2-inch diameter hole in the center for the umbrella. I'm considering using a Forstner bit, but I'm also thinking about a metal hole saw. Given how tough Ipe is, I'm curious if anyone has tips for efficiently removing wood from this dense material. Any thoughts?

Honestly, a hole saw will give you the cleanest cut. The trick is to stop once the pilot bit goes through, then flip the wood over and finish the hole from the other side. Just be super cautious with that jig you made for the table saw; depending on its design, it can be really dangerous!
