Hey everyone! We just moved into our new house last November, and it seems like the previous owners didn't do any upkeep with the gutters or sump pump. They just let everything drain right next to the foundation, which isn't great.
We've already buried the sump pump discharge line using 4" PVC and it now ends near a creek with a pop-up. The house has a few gutters: one by the front door, one at the left front corner, and another down the hill next to the sump pump discharge. I'd like to connect the gutters to the buried discharge line.
The plan is to bury the gutter from the front door and run it to the corner gutter, using a Y fitting to tie them together, then head down the hill to connect with the gutter there, and finally tie the whole system into the buried sump pump line.
I'm thinking of putting a cleanout or leaf catcher on each gutter before burying everything. Do you see any issues with this plan? Any suggestions to improve it? Thanks a lot!

Your approach sounds solid, but be mindful of how you angle the gutters. You don’t want to throw too much water into a single drain, as it could overwhelm it during heavy rain. Consider the slope when you’re connecting the downspouts to ensure smooth drainage!

Got it, so I should start connecting from the lowest downspout? If I run the one by the front door towards the street instead of the sump drain, would that help with the overflow issue? Also, is it overkill to bury all the downspouts if I'm not having water problems? I just want to keep my yard looking nice.
