I'm planning to install Lifeproof LVP flooring on my stairs, which already have foam underlayment attached. Scraping it off seems risky because it might damage the planks. Would using Liquid Nails effectively bond the foam to the bare wood stair treads, or is there a better adhesive option I should consider?

Installing LVP on stairs can be tricky. Some people suggest using LVP stair caps instead because LVP isn't really meant for stairs, especially if it's a floating floor. If you glue it down, there's a good chance it might pop up later because of movement over time. Plus, if it does pop up, you'll end up having to use a stair nose cap that might not match. Honestly, if you have kids or elderly people using the stairs, I’d recommend carpet instead. LVP can get super slick with just a bit of water, which could lead to accidents.
I’ve had experience with adhesives, and I’m not a fan of 'no more nails' or caulking-type options. They don’t stick that well since people often use them sparingly. I would recommend a trowelled adhesive instead, as it provides better coverage on the stair tread.
