I'm planning to set up two 20x20 triangular shade sails over my pool area. I'm looking to use my gazebo (which is 20'x9' from Backyard Discovery Arcadia) on one side and on the other side, I'll be using three 6x6x12 posts. I could really use some general advice on how to properly install these sails and also tips on how to reinforce the gazebo. My main concern is that the tension and weight of the sails might cause the hardware to pull out of the gazebo's faux 6x6 cedar posts.

Another thing to consider is using metal posts instead. They tend to handle the tension and weight much better than wood, especially if you're dealing with large shades.
I really wouldn't recommend using the gazebo for this setup. I suggest going with at least 6x6 posts it's crucial to bury them about 3 feet deep in concrete for stability. The size of those sail shades can easily snap 4x4 supports or even pull the gazebo out of the ground entirely.
Thanks for the input! The gazebo is actually anchored into concrete, though I'm still worried about the attachment points potentially pulling out due to tension. Would that be a concern even with the concrete base?
