I recently moved into a new apartment and noticed that my landlord painted over all the light switch wall plates, including the switches themselves. It's not a great look, and I'm wondering how to remove the paint. Can I use paint thinner on these plastic wall plates and switches? I'm totally new to this DIY stuff, so please share some straightforward instructions!

Replacing the plates is definitely the easiest route. They usually cost under a dollar. Just make sure to keep the old ones in case you need to put them back when your lease ends.
Honestly, I'd just go ahead and replace the wall plates. They’re super cheap, like around 25 cents each! It's an easy fix that can make a big difference without any hassle.
If you’re worried about the switches, it’s best not to mess with them unless you're confident. Leave them as is since you don’t want to take any risks as a renter. I totally get how frustrating it is to deal with a cheap landlord!
