Best Way to Replace a C-Clamp Pad?

Asked By D3k3n_99 On

I've got this C-clamp that I'm attaching to a wood workbench, but it's missing the ring that would normally act as a pad. I really don't want to end up scratching or denting the bottom of my desk too much. I was thinking about using a small wood block, drilling a little divot for the screw to fit in, and then putting some rubbery shelf liner on top. Any thoughts or suggestions to improve on this?

Honestly, your idea might even outperform the original. As long as everything's secured, you should be set!
