I'm trying to install a water line for my fridge, and I have an unfinished basement underneath. Should I go through the tile floor right above the baseboard, or is it better to go through the wall? If I choose the wall option, I might just run the hose through a wall plate without adding a separate valve. I'm not really experienced with drilling through tile, so I'm open to any suggestions or better methods for doing this safely and efficiently!

Going through the wall using an ice maker outlet box is definitely the way to go! It keeps everything tidy and easier to maintain in the long run. Make sure to locate your nearest stud for proper installation.
I've done it both ways in different houses and honestly, running a braided stainless line through the floor works well too. Just make sure to secure it properly to minimize any risk of leaks, especially where you make connections.

I get that it feels like a set-and-forget project, but just keep in mind some people might need to access it for maintenance later. Tidy installations always pay off!
